“The #MeToo movement has done great work in bringing to the fore the issues of sexual assault and sexual harassment but I feel that it has, to a large extent, excluded an important group: child victims of sexual abuse. I therefore applaud AWARE’s Aim for Zero campaign as it’s important to break the taboo and the silence surrounding sexual abuse and sexual assault. We need to talk about consent and healthy boundaries. More importantly, we also need to challenge the myths surrounding child sexual abuse and sexual assault. “No” means no, and the best world we can leave behind for our children is when we have zero sexual assault. Period.”
